World Book day 23 april 2024

"There is no friend as loyal as a BOOK".

Books are our best friends. Books not only our best friends but also a good philosopher, guide and serve the purpose of a good companion whenever needed. Today is World Book Day or World Book and Copyright Day - a day dedicated to Book lovers around the globe. Books are of many varieties such as the books which makes you laugh, motivated, that bring tears to your eyes, fiction, non-fiction books that improve your vocabulary, speaking and writing skills etc.But regardless of the kind of books you like the most, the indisputable truth is that the world would not be the same without books. Books have been educating and inspiring us for thousands of years, so it should go without saying that World Book Day is a more than a well deserved day. World Book Day was created on April 23rd, 1995 by UNESCO. Each year on 23rd April celebrations take place all over the world to recognize the scope of books- a link between generation and across cultures. On this day we also remember the world famous author William Shakespeare, who was born and died on this day. Other famous authors who died on this day include Miguel de Cervantes and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega. It’s not just a day to indulge in a love of books, but also a day where children and young people can gain access to books. The day was also designed to promote publishing and copyright. We know that making everyday a book day can have significant impacts on children and young people's well being.

So "Read, Lead, Succeed."
